Very few people are brave enough to sport a tattoo of a vulture, partly because of the social stigma attached to the bird. These animals have suffered an unjustified reputation throughout the years and its significance in the cultural composition of the world is sadly overshadowed by its bad habits. Vultures represent many things, including Death, Renewal, Patience, Cleanliness, Protection, Intelligence, and Opportunity. They are survivors who can adapt to any circumstance and make the best out of decay and death. Buzzards were revered symbols of Motherhood and Family in ancient Egypt, but it is doubtful that this concept will catch on in our modern world.
